National Landcare Facilitator Project

The new National Landcare Facilitator is Mr. Brett de Hayr.
            

Mr de Hayr has held executive positions with the Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association, the Cattle Council of Australia and AgForce, and was most recently the former Executive Director of Sustainable Agriculture for Queensland Primary Industries and Fisheries.

Mr de Hayr’s role will support the development of the National Landcare Framework by working with the community to help identify the challenges and opportunities the Landcare movement and natural resource management will face over the next 20 years.

  • On 16 December 2009 the Hon. Tony Burke MP, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry announced the
    reactivation of the
    Australian Landcare Council by appointing Kim Chance as Chair of the Council. The Council
    will work collaboratively with community, farmers, Indigenous land managers and urban groups to facilitate sustainable
    natural resource management solutions.

    The Council will also support the development of the Australian Framework for Landcare, a community framework
    to ensure the Landcare movement thrives into the future.

    Further members of the Council will be appointed in the coming weeks.
