The National Landcare Facilitator advocates the landcare ethos and supports community landcare through an advisory role. The National Landcare Facilitator Project has a special focus on sustainable production in the primary industry sector, together with the engagement and participation of community groups in natural resource management programs. It is part of the national component of Caring for Our Country, along with the
Australian Landcare Council (on hold),
Landcare Australia Limited and the Caring for Our Country Facilitator network.
Coral Love and Paul Carroll, trading as Marian Partners Australia, manage the contract for the NLFP from their base at Mudgegonga, Victoria.
The aims of NLFP are to provide support at the national level for:
- the landcare movement;
- primary industry appreciation of natural resource management (NRM) issues;
- helping raise awareness of Australian Government NRM programs and priorities, especially the Landcare component of ‘Caring for ourCountry’, and
- reinvigoration of the landcare movement
An extension was negotiated with Marian Partners to assist in the development of an Australian Framework for Landcare for the period from 1 July 2009 to 30 December 2009. The new objectives are:

Objective 1: . Provide efficient and effective channels of communication between the Australian Government and the landcare movement
Objective 2: The Caring for our Country target audience aware of the opportunities for sustainable land management practice adoption at the local level.
Objective 3: Support for the development of the Australian Frameowrk for Landcare and the National Landcare Forum
